Up until 2013, I was an independent PC software developer for over 30 years. In those years, I programmed for DOS and Windows mostly in Turbo Pascal and Delphi and later in Python. I also did some work with C and C++. I tried several times to get into programming on the Mac but never really got anywhere with it. In 2013, I switched careers and became a local elections official (Deputy Director of the Madison County, Ohio Board of Elections). I retired from that in 2018.
After retirement, I got back into programming, just as a hobby. I am also an amateur radio (ham) operator (callsign N8ME) and I worked on programs for amateur radio.
Last summer, I picked up a M1 Mac Mini with the goal of finally learning Mac programming. I've actually written a couple of simple, but useul programs in Swift and SwiftUI, but I still have a lot to learn.
I'm looking for a community of developers where I can find mentors to share ideas and discuss issues that I come across.
