The first time you take part in a quiz everything will be new and strange, but hopefully we can answer some questions now that will help:

• Everyone answers the question at the same time. That could mean you're competing against 50 other people, or even 500 – or more. (There's a hard limit of 2000 people, but I think we're unlikely to hit that!)
• Questions will be about Swift, Apple platform development, and similar topics. We might throw in a few curveballs to keep you on your toes!
• Each quiz will last between 10 and 15 minutes as a YouTube livestream, so you can dip in and out easily – it's designed to be fun, not hard work.
• Each quiz will have prizes for the top three scorers. The prizes will vary from event to event, but there always be one for each of the top three.
• Most questions will be new in each quiz, but we'll try to repeat some questions here and there to help you remember them.
• You will see both the question and the answer options on the livestream, but there's a separate window where you'll select your answer. We recommend using two browser windows, or perhaps using a desktop and an iPhone.
• As the event takes place as a YouTube livestream there will inevitably be some lag, but that's OK – please remember it's only a game!

If you are keen to minimize your lag, we recommend you connect to the stream using an Ethernet cable and a high-speed internet connection.

We want everyone to take part in the Big Swift Quiz in a safe environment, so we have a handful of rules:

• Any form of trolling, harrassment, or abuse will result in you being removed from the game, and likely future games too.
• If you want to complain about lag, please do it elsewhere. It's a game, it's free to take part in, and we're doing it for fun – if you're complaining about lag on the internet you might have missed the point.
• The judge's decision is final.

That's it! Really, it just boils down to coming along and having fun – we hope it's a nice distraction in otherwise difficult times.
