SwiftUI: Communicating between iOS and WatchOS

Forums > watchOS

I'm following the above example (link), but am struggling to convert it to SwiftUI 2.0.

In the example, it is suggested to add the following code into the viewDidLoad() method of ViewController.swift:

if (WCSession.isSupported()) {
    let session = WCSession.default
    session.delegate = self
    session.activate()
}

and then that the ViewController should conform to WCSessionDelegate:

class ViewController: UIViewController, WCSessionDelegate {

however in SwiftUI 2.0, there is no ViewController.swift and therefore no viewDidLoad() method.

Where should the WCSession activation call go?

I have looked at other examples which suggest using the Interface Builder; but this is not provided by default when adding a watchOS template, so I suspect there is another method to provide communication between the iOS app and a Watch app. Can you help?
