SOLVED: Turn of notifications

i am writing a 2 player game. whilst playing the game i sometimes get notifications from other apps like BBC News. this can be distracting, is there a way i can turn off or suppress these notifications until the game finishes?

You can try and configure and set a Focus state.

As @Hatsushira says

Go to Settings>Focus>Gaming then you can change Lock/Home/Watch screens and if you want an apps/people to over ride focus, and will even set the focus when you connect a Wireless Controller
