SwiftUI / SplitViewController - how to implement for iOS + iPadOS + macOS

Apple has a sample program on the mac Catalyst section called Receipes that works as a tab bar / navigation on iPhone, but on iPadOS and macOS it works as a 3 section split view controller; however it's all in UIKit.

Is there a way to accomplish the same thing, only in SwiftUI or with minimal UIKit additions?

I've spent days googling for someone to make a tutorial or demo or anything, but it all keeps going back to the Apple course and nothing with SwiftUI in it.

Or do we have to wait for WWDC / iOS 15?
