Run code when the spacebar is pressed while typing in TextField

Forums > SwiftUI

Hey all,

I'd like to run some code (ex. increment a var) whenever a user presses the space bar on the keyboard while typing in a TextField in iPhone.

Currently, I have a binding in the TextField that increments a var if the text contains " ". However, this isn't 100% reliable and often doesn't trigger immediately.

I found a couple of solutions regarding detecting keyboard events but they all seem to be for MacOS and physical keyboards. What would be the best way to detect key presses on an iPhone / iOS keyboard?
