InApp Purchase logic help

Forums > SwiftUI

Hi Guys,

I have a question regarding the InApp purchase with StoreKit on XCode.

I take the Apple Music app as a base example.

Facts: All the musics are available on an online database. The user can decide to buy one music and download it on all of his devices registered with its Apple Id. If there is a change in the song (would not happen with a song obviously - but in the title for example) (the app would download the updated version of the song.)

Questions: I'am wondering what is the database and cloudkit logic behind this app

  • where would the music database be stored ? could it be a Public Cloud Database ? (paid by the developer?)
  • the purchase is non-consumable i guess?
  • the downloaded music would be stored on a private cloud database? or on the device itself?
  • what protocol can I use to request the comparaison of both databases (stored and public) and update the user's if necessary?

Thank you for your imputs.

Best Tim

I'am thinking of using Apple hosted content and download the content during the IAP process. My content being in a .xdatamodeld format, I am wondering how to merge it with the "purchasedItems.xdatamodeld" content on the app, and how to keep it up to date if the purchased content is beeing updated on the developer's front.

Any imput?

Thanks

Tim
