Data entry presentation UI question

I have a general iOS / iPadOS UI question. I have a list in a navigation view. My toolbar has a + button to add items to the list. The question is, how should I present my detail/edit view?

Should I slide up a full screen cover when the user taps on + to create a new item and when they tap on an existing item in the list to view/edit it?

Should I slide in from the right with a navigation link when the user taps on + to create a new item and when they tap on an existing item in the list to view/edit it?

Should I slide up a full screen cover when the user taps on + to create a new item, but slide in from the right with a navigation link when the user taps on an existing item in the list to view/edit it?
