CICategoryGenerator CIFilter

Forums > SwiftUI

Just playing around with filters and some things confusing me.

func generateFilter() {
        print("Generate")

        if let filter = CIFilter(name: "CISunbeamsGenerator") {

            print("Filter created")

            guard let outputImage = filter.outputImage
                else { return }

                print("Output created")

                if let cgimg = context.createCGImage(outputImage, from: outputImage.extent) {
                    let uiImage  = UIImage(cgImage: cgimg)
                    image  = Image(uiImage: uiImage)

                    print("Image Created")
                }
        }
}

The above produces a nice sunbeam image. When I change the filter type to CIStarShineGenerator. I get nothing. Fails at if let cmimg....

Other filter types don't seem to work either

Any clues
