List the steps you took to create the project. Judging by the content of your question, you are taking the UIKit course, but you created a SwiftUI project. To get a view controller file in your project, you must choose Storyboard from the Interface menu when creating the project. Make sure you create an iOS app project. The multiplatform app project templates are for SwiftUI apps.
