image fade in using swift uikit

Forums > Swift

Good afternoon,

I downloaded a .jpg and attached an image through the Mainstoryboard and linked it to the Home.swift page. at this point, when i run the simulator the image appears...so thats fine.

however, i am now trying to modify the image such that it fades in. swift isnt liking my approach. my code is below.

Appreciate any help/guidance...

import Foundation

import UIKit

class Home: UIViewController {
    @IBOutlet var lonelinessLbl: UILabel!
    @IBOutlet var Image: UIImageView!
    override func viewDidLoad() {

        super.viewDidLoad()

        startAnimations()

        // Do any additional setup after loading the view.

    }

    func startAnimations() {

        Image.animationImages = [

            UIImage(named: "birds.jpg")]

        Image.animationDuration = 3

        Image.startAnimations()

    }

}
