ContinuousClock() not compiling in Xcode 14?

Forums > Swift

Am trying to use the new ContinuousClock feature in Swift 5.7 using Xcode 14.0 (14A309) in a command line app with with the statement

let clock = ContinuousClock()

I get the following error:

Cannot find 'ContinuousClock' in scope

Is there an import missing (I'm importing Foundation)? The apple docs show its in Swift Standard Library which isn't really an import.. That doc page also list it as beta, but the release announcement shows it as implemented.

The What's new in Swift 5.7 article is pretty clear and simple...

Xcode 14.0 does not include the macOS 13 SDK so you can't use ContinuousClock in a Mac program.

The workaround is to install the Xcode 14.1 beta that includes the macOS 13 SDK.

BUILD THE ULTIMATE PORTFOLIO APP Most Swift tutorials help you solve one specific problem, but in my Ultimate Portfolio App series I show you how to get all the best practices into a single app: architecture, testing, performance, accessibility, localization, project organization, and so much more, all while building a SwiftUI app that works on iOS, macOS and watchOS.
