Best resources to learn Swift?

Forums > Swift

Hi folks! There are a lot different online ways to learn Swift - from expensive bootcamps, to online learning courses from providers like Udemy and Coursera. I am trying to find the easiest and cheapest one. Additionally, what timeline should I give myself to learn this given that I will learn about an hour or two a day for this?

From my experience, picking one Udemy course that has a complete curriculum (from zero to app store) was kind of a good kickstarter, from there I continue learning on Youtube and HWS mostly, and buy a more advanced and specific topic course on Udemy when I need to. Timelines my vary, I'm not sure where you are currently, but it could be a year or 6 months if you're really quick on the uptake.

Besides the free courses here

I started with the books of Ray Wenderlich (iOS Apprentice (not available anymore). Now there are two of them UIKit Apprentice and SwiftUI Apprentice. These are for iOS/Apple development, though.

BUILD THE ULTIMATE PORTFOLIO APP Most Swift tutorials help you solve one specific problem, but in my Ultimate Portfolio App series I show you how to get all the best practices into a single app: architecture, testing, performance, accessibility, localization, project organization, and so much more, all while building a SwiftUI app that works on iOS, macOS and watchOS.
