Vapor: Where are the source code downloads?

Forums > Server-side Swift

Hey,

Just bought the VAPOR EDITION of Server Side Swift and there are no source code files accompanying it.

I checked GitHub TwoStraws to no avail.

Cheers, SDB

I have been going through this book; let me offer a couple of insights.

  1. The current Vapor/Leaf has enough breaking API changes that you should not copy/paste the source code and you should absolutely not use the template Paul provides, as it will not compile.
  2. The book is still useful, but you should, instead, work through the examples by using the existing template. Just delete the stuff you don't need.
  3. You'll definitely want to have the Leaf documentation up in a browser as you're working through, since there are significant changes to what commands are called and how they're denoted (colons instead of braces, etc.).

The book is for Vapor 3, so it is pretty far out of date. While there have not been many changes to Leaf, Vapor 4 is substantially different. It is disappointing that the book is still for sale without having a disclaimer that it is not currentl.
