Didits! … Remembering things you did

Forums > App Announcements

Just a quick note of thanks to Paul and to the wonderful resources on this site. One of my retirement goals was to learn SwiftUI. Long career in IT, but on the management side. A short coding stint 35 years ago, but that was it professionally. Among my long list of things I wanted to do when I had some more time was to learn to develop in the Apple ecosystem.

Thanks, in large part, to the 100 days course, I've managed to complete some basic projects. Just published my first on the App Store -- Didits.

Didits was inspired by my always wondering "when was the last time I __?" When did I change my air filter in the car? When was my last physical? What did we give as birthday gifts? What were my volunteer engagements? etc etc. The more I use the app, the more use cases emerge.

It is quite simple... aligns with my SwiftUI skill :-) Create categories (eg, Auto, Home, Health, Gifts, Movies, Books, etc) and then within the categories track events.

Nothing fancy, but has been a fun learning project for me. Thanks again for the resources available through this site. So much, so much still to learn! cheers -- jay

BUILD THE ULTIMATE PORTFOLIO APP Most Swift tutorials help you solve one specific problem, but in my Ultimate Portfolio App series I show you how to get all the best practices into a single app: architecture, testing, performance, accessibility, localization, project organization, and so much more, all while building a SwiftUI app that works on iOS, macOS and watchOS.
