UIKit vs. SwiftUI for tvOS in Q3'22?

I recently started learning Swift & SwiftUI (no previous experience with either). My goal is to build an image slideshow app for tvOS.

Yesterday I purchased Hacking with tvOS. The book is great, but it's written for UIKit, and needs some updates, see https://www.hackingwithswift.com/forums/tvos/fixing-hacking-with-tvos-2019-05-27-for-xcode-11-5/1899

I've seen older posts saying that SwiftUI is not fully baked on tvOS. Missing functionality, performance issues, etc.

Is this still the case for tvOS 15/16?
As a beginner, is it still worth investing in learning UIKit for tvOS, or better to focus exclusively on SwiftUI?

Appreciate any insights or opinions on this, thanks!
