UIViewRepresentable long press character to get diacritics - letter with accent mark - does not work

Forums > SwiftUI

I'm using UIViewRepresentable for a word processing app. When I long press a letter, such as e, I get a pop up showing 7 diacritic forms of e with a number near each one. When I then press that number, that form of e highlights briefly, the pop up closes, but I don't get the diacritic form of e in the text.

Using the SwiftUI TextEditor, all the above happens except I get the diacritic form of e (such as é in café).

How do I get diacritic letters to work in a text editing view that uses UIViewRepresentable?
