UIHostingController and system padding

Forums > SwiftUI

Hello!

I have a view controller that embedds UIHostingController's to display some SwiftUI views. In the SwiftUI views I use .padding() to use the system margin on the leading and trailing edge. Unfortunately, when embedding views using UIHostingController that padding is always 16pt, instead of 20pt, as it should be on iPhone 11 Pro Max. This makes it look out of place when UIKit views align with that 20pt system margin. Is there an easy way to use the system padding correctly or do I have to pass the directionalLayoutMargins from UIViewController to the SwiftUI view and use a custom padding like .padding(layoutMargins.leading)?
