SOLVED: How to show an alert from another alert's action

Forums > SwiftUI

I'm trying to implement the following situation:

  • User clicks button
  • System shows alert confirming submission
  • Error in submission
  • System shows another alert showing error

To do this, I'm setting the showingErrorAlert variable in the first alert's action closure. But it never shows the second alert, and clicking the button again does nothing.

And yes, I'm attaching the alert() to different views and they're in different tree branches.

HStack {
    Button{}.alert(...)
    Color.clear.alert(...)
}

Is there a was to show the second alert?

Fixed it. Just made sure the variable was updated from the main thread.

DispatchQueue.main.async {
   self.showingErrorAlert = true
}
