SOLVED: How Do I Define Button Size Relative to Device Size?

Forums > SwiftUI

I'd like to define a button's size (and other elements) relative to the width and height of the phone being used.

Right now, I am doing the following:

    var body: some View {
        Button("Button Message") {
            // Do an action
        }
        .frame(width: 300, height: 200 )
    }

As an example, what value could I use for width to make it 2/5ths of the width of the device in portrait mode?

You can read the screen size:

var deviceWidth: CGFloat {
    UIScreen.main.bounds.width
}

var deviceHeight: CGFloat {
    UIScreen.main.bounds.height
}

and then calculate whatever you want from there.

You might want to explore Understanding frames and coordinates inside GeometryReader which might help.

Thank you @roosterboy and @NigelGee! :D
