Display JSON Data

Forums > SwiftUI

I'm trying to display some text held in a JSON file and am getting this error

Initializer 'init(_:)' requires that 'Platform' conform to 'StringProtocol'

The struct defining the json file are like this

struct Game: Codable, Identifiable {
    let id: Int
    let title: String
    let platform: Platform
}

enum Platform: String, Codable {
    case pcWindows = "PC (Windows)"
    case pcWindowsWebBrowser = "PC (Windows), Web Browser"
    case webBrowser = "Web Browser"
}

The struct is more complicated than that show above, but I've just edited out the unneccessary fields.

So I would like to display of the screen the value held in the platform field, how do I do this?

I think I've discovered the answer. If I just do

Text(game.platform.rawvalue)

that seems to work. Is this the right solution?
