Checkboxes on swiftui list unresponsive until list is scrolled

I am creating a simple check list application and have ran into a problem. When I create the first task in the list, the checkbox doesn't respond to taps until the list is scrolled slightly, the task is selected or another task is added. I am guessing this might be a bug but does anyone have a workaround?
