When we return numbers of row as the amount of items in an array, why does xcode still build cells for nil values?


I dont understand what you mean. Do you mean these empty looking rows?

I think they are referring to the empty rows placed after the end of our tables by default. You should look at this for a solution: How to stop empty row separators appearing in UITableView
