Modify Settings and Maintain Game State

Working on a SpriteKit game and looking for the "best practices" approach to having a settings view for simple things like:

  • Play Music
  • Play Sounds

My thought is to make it a separate scend (SettingsScene) and pass the current game state info to resume when going back into view (I have a class being used for these items), but wondering if there is some other way to pause/resume game play and not lose context while loading another scene and returning back, etc.. ?
