How add in dictionary type arrey new element

Forums > Swift

All of this:

let typeWeapon = SmallArms.TypeArms.self

var pistols: [SmallArms.TypeArms: [String]] = [:]

let weapons = handWeapons.map{ $0.type }

        for weapon in weapons {
            if let unit = pistols[weapon] {
                print("\(unit)")
                ???
            }
        }

can be done more simply like so:

let weapons = handWeapons.reduce(into: [SmallArms.TypeArms: [String]]()) { (result, w) in
    result[w.type, default: []].append(w.name)
}
