We have funding lined up to give us a nice runway to do things right. The job is remote, full-time (long-term contract also possible if desired), and includes a nice equity grant.

Anyone interested? I’d love to hear from you. The job description is copied below, but you can read it again and apply for the position here:

About Tally

We're building an app that captures and saves sounds, especially human voices, to learn more about and connect to the people in our lives in a fun, game-like way. It's an app that saves people, and over time, our goal is to save everyone. We're looking for an experienced iOS developer to be the first mobile engineer on our team, and to design, build, and own the mobile app of Tally.

About the role:

  • You'll be the first mobile developer to join our small team, so you'll help create not only our app, but our company as well. We need someone with the talent to build world-class native iOS experiences who wants to start with an empty codebase and build something wonderful.
  • This will be a full-time position (or long-term contract, if you prefer). The position is fully remote, and we’re looking for someone located in UTC-8 (PST) to UTC+1 (CET) time zones.

What you’ll be doing:

Developing our iOS application using native technologies (Swift, UIKit, SwiftUI) and taking it from idea to shipped product Helping our founder and CEO shape Tally’s vision, product strategy, and feature set Working with our product designer to create a delightful and engaging user experience with animations, haptics, and sounds Working with our backend engineer to design the client-server architecture and API that ensures a fast and responsive app Owning and managing submissions to Apple's App Store 😬

You might be a fit if you:

Are a product-minded engineer with 5+ years of experience building native iOS apps in the consumer/social space Are very experienced with Swift, UIKit, SwiftUI, and the iOS HIG (Objective-C experience a plus) Prefer to craft and polish great, native iOS apps over using cross-platform frameworks Have released and maintained one or more iOS apps in the App Store Have built dynamic user interfaces that make use of animation and haptics Have built mobile apps that integrate with cloud services via REST or JSON APIs Are experienced with source control systems, unit and integration testing, and linting and debugging tools Are more a "design and build a new thing" than a "maintain and optimize an existing thing" kind of person Like to build apps that make people happy Like to work in startup environments where the team is small, the change is constant, and sometimes you just have to pull a MacGyver to move forward Are a good writer and speak English fluently Have audio processing experience and/or general audio passion and nerdery (not required, but a big plus)

About the offer:

Competitive salary Significant equity grant (befitting being one of our first team members) Flexible hours and calm company culture (we strive for focus and flow) Unlimited PTO, 10 paid holidays, and one week for winter vacation Medical, dental, and vision insurance (for full-time employees)

Please include with your application

Your CV (and LinkedIn profile, if available) A list of publicly-available iOS applications on which you played a significant development role Links to examples of code you've written (GitHub profile, etc) Three examples of what you would consider to be “great” iOS apps A sentence or two about why Tally is interesting to you

About Eido Studios

Tally is incubated and funded by Eido Studios in San Diego, California. Eido was founded by a successful team of product designers and entrepreneurs with decades of experience that aims to build the next big thing. We back companies that are ambitious, product-driven, and hype-free.
