SOLVED: Screen Time

Forums > iOS

Is there a way to access a users screen time (the amount of time on they are on their phone)? I was reading through Screentime, DeviceActivity, and FamilyControls, but wasn't seeing what I was hoping to find.

I found my issue was had to add FamilyControls to the signing and capabilities, and then requesting users permissions to access it.

// import the framework
  import FamilyControls

// used for authorization from the user
    let center = AuthorizationCenter.shared

// when page appears, ask the user for access to their screentime
        .onAppear {
            Task {
                do {
                    try await center.requestAuthorization(for: .individual)
                } catch {
                    print("Failed to enroll user with error: \(error)")
                }
            }
        }
