Project 14 - BucketList Result Type

Forums > 100 Days of SwiftUI

Quick post to let anyone who's going through the 100 Days of SwiftUI course, that in an update to Swift, the Result type was introduced as a real life type of its own .

So when we're instructed with the following to decode the JSON results from Wikipedia:

struct Result: Codable {
    let query: Query
}

struct Query: Codable {
    let pages: [Int: Page]
}

struct Page: Codable {
    let pageid: Int
    let title: String
    let terms: [String: [String]]?
}

The first struct, named Result, has to be renamed to something else.

Unfortunately the compiler shipped with Xcode 12 wasn't very helpful at point that out, but we got there in the end.

struct WikiResult: Codable {
     let query: Query
}

(for example).

Happy Coding!
