after i choose Embed In > Navigation Controller. and try to run the code

i did't see large empty table view

it still white box ,except when i click on the screen i see gray bar

is that normal ?

To see the rows you need to load cells. If you load empty cells the screen will be blank. The main functions here are numberOfRowsInSection and cellForRowAt indexPath. The first one returns the number of rows to create and the second creates cells with data.
